Sue Okubo joined the Bureau of Economic Analysis in June 1997 as Associate Director of Industry Economics. She oversees the preparation and analysis of the input-output accounts of the U.S. economy, gross product originating accounts, and supplementary industry satellite accounts. Prior to joining BEA, Dr. Okubo was Director of the Office of International Macroeconomic Analysis, Office of the Chief Economist, U.S. Department of Commerce and served an Assistant National Intelligence Officer for Economics at the National Intelligence Council. Her private sector experience includes serving as Manager, R&D Strategy Analysis, GTE Laboratories, 1980-1982, and from 1978-1979, as economist at General Electric Corporate Research and Development. Dr. Okubo received a Ph.D. in economics from Tulane University. Paul Zeisset directs marketing activities for the 2002 Economic Census. Paul is Special Assistant in the Census Bureau's Economic Planning and Coordination Division. For over 30 years, Mr. Zeisset has worked to make census data accessible and useful. His work has ranged from supervising publication of the U.S. Statistical Abstract to designing public-use microdata from household censuses and survey; and from writing guides and indexes to developing software for Census Bureau CD-ROMs. Mr. Zeisset's current work focuses on communicating the availability and uses of Economic Census data. He has developed a wide variety of data displays and reference material on the web and in print. He has authored a number of articles about data use and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Mr. Zeisset heads a working group that produced State and County QuickFacts at the Census Bureau's website, and is also involved in other efforts to improve and integrate data products from the Census Bureau. Mr. Zeisset was awarded the Census Bureau's Bronze Medal for distinguished service in 1998, the Census Bureau’s award for Outstanding Customer Service in 1997 and 2001, and the Director’s Award for Innovation in 1999 and 2001. Mr. Zeisset holds an MA in psychology and statistics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Richard Wobbelind is currently Associate Dean for External Relations, Associate Professor of Business Economics and Finance, and Director Business Research Division, Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder. Previously, he has worked at the Center for Business and Economic Forecasting at the University of Colorado and the Institute for Regional Affairs at Bucknell University. His work at both centers focused on regional economics and forecasting. He is currently Chair of the NABE Regional Roundtable. He is Past President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer for the Denver Association for Business Economics (a NABE chapter), and has organized numerous sessions at the fall and spring conferences over the past three years. He is currently Secretary/Treasurer AUBER (Association of University Business and Economics Research), and is Past President, AUBER. He has a BA Economics, Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA; and MA and Ph.D., University of Colorado, Boulder, CO.
Jack Kleinhenz, PhD, is CEO of Kleinhenz & Associates, a business and economic consulting firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. The firm specializes in industry studies, regional economics, labor market issues strategic planning and business plan development. Jack has over 20 years of broad-based experience working with a variety of firms including fortune 500 companies. He is known for translating economics and information into clear explanations and action. Jack speaks on business and regional economic issues and regularly called upon for his expertise by the local and national media. Formerly with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Jack recently served as chief economist and consultant to the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, the nation’s largest chamber of commerce. He teaches economics as a faculty member of CASE’s Weatherhead School of Management and serves as senior regional economist for the Center for Regional Economics Issues. A graduate of John Carroll University, Jack earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame. He has completed post-graduate programs at Weatherhead School of Management and Carnegie Mellon University. In 1995, Jack was named one of John Carroll University’s Top 50 School of Business Graduates. Previous faculty appointments include the University of Notre Dame and John Carroll University.
