Dan Sansbury is the Assistant Division Chief for Construction Indicator Programs at the U. S. Census Bureau. He is responsible for the economic indicator releases for Housing Starts, Building Permits, New Home Sales, and Value of Construction Put in Place. In addition his programs also publish statistics on Characteristics of New Housing, Expenditures for Improvements and Repairs to Residential Properties, and Manufactured Home Placements.

Sara Johnson is Managing Director of the Global Macroeconomics Group at Global Insight. In this role, she helps Global Insight’s clients assess worldwide business and financial risks and opportunities. The Global Macroeconomics Group provides economic forecasts and analyses of 200 countries as well as research studies of critical economic issues. Ms. Johnson is also responsible for Global Insight’s Consumer Markets Service. She previously served as North American Research Director and Chief Regional Economist with Standard & Poor’s DRI. As research director, she managed the U.S. Macro, U.S. Regional, U.S. Industry, Cost Forecasting, and Canadian services and served on Standard & Poor’s five-member Economic Council.
Ms. Johnson holds a B.A. degree in economics and mathematics from Wellesley College and an M.A. in economics from Harvard University with concentrations in finance and macroeconomic theory.
From 1991 to 2001, Ms. Johnson has served on the Governor’s Economic Council, advising three Massachusetts governors on public policy and economic development and chairing the Governor's Task Force on Tax Policy and Capital Formation through 1999. In November-December 2002, she served on Governor Mitt Romney’s Transition Steering Committee.
Ms. Johnson is a member of the Boston Economic Club and a past President of the Boston Association of Business Economists, a regional chapter of the National Association for Business Economics. She is President of The New York Collegium, the city’s leading Baroque period orchestra and chorus. She also serves on the Board of Overseers and the Audit and Compliance Committee of Newton-Wellesley Hospital.
