NABE members are encouraged to participate actively in the 2010 Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado, October 9-12 by submitting a paper for the NABE Edmund A. Mennis Contributed Papers Award. E-mail an abstract of no more than 250 words (one page, double-spaced) of a proposed paper (with no author identification) and a biographical (also one-page) sketch no later than March 15, 2010, to Tom Beers, NABE executive director, at tbeers@nabe.com. By April 19, a Selection Committee appointed by Business Economics’ Editor will review the anonymous abstracts, selecting up to eight abstracts. The authors will be requested to provide completed papers for review by June 21. The guidelines for preparation will be the same as those for all manuscripts submitted to Business Economics. These guidelines are printed in Business Economics, and they are also available on the NABE website or on request from the Editor of Business Economics. There is a $1,000 prize for the best paper.

According to the NABE Outlook survey, released October 12, “the Great Recession is over.” The survey coordinators reported that “a vast majority of business economists believe that the recession has ended, but that economic recovery is likely to be more moderate than those typically experienced following steep declines.” Find the complete survey report here.
