Register now for the Skills Seminar August 17-20 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri, on "Econometrics for the Business Analyst." This hands-on, educational seminar is for people seeking knowledge of recent developments in economic methodologies and quantitative analysis. The emphasis is on statistical applications as opposed to forecasting, although some forecasting material will be covered. The May 2009 NABE Outlook Survey has received a tremendous amount of media coverage since its release on May 27, according to Melissa Golding, NABE press officer. NABE President Chris Varvares, NABE Vice President Lynn Reaser, and outlook survey analysts Richard DeKaser and Parul Jain all were interviewed about the survey, which as of June 16, had received 750 hits on Google News. Varvares was interviewed by CNBC, CNN International’s Quest Means Business, National Public Radio (by Jim Zirolli, for Morning Edition), CNN Radio, the ABC News Radio Network (National Service), Associated Press Radio (National Service), the Wall Street Journal Radio Network, CBS News Radio (National), CBS Radio (WBZ Boston), Voice of America Radio, and the Christian Science Monitor. Reaser did an interview with CNN Radio that was part of CNN’s heavy coverage of the survey. The survey was mentioned during CNN’s morning news broadcasts on May 27, and a survey article was featured on the main home page of cnn.com, on the front page of CNNMoney.com, and was also discussed on that evening’s broadcast of Anderson Cooper 360. She was also interviewed by Sean Snaith in Orlando for his program, Money Talks America with Sean Snaith You can watch this interview on NABE TV. Jain spoke with a graphic artist from CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, and with reporters from CNNMoney.com, the San Diego Valley Tribune, and the Miami Herald. DeKaser did an interview with DEX Your Business (an online newsletter geared toward small business owners), and with The State News, Michigan State University’s student newspaper.
