The Detroit Chapter is back in full swing with new officers and an outstanding series of programs for the rest of this year.  The kick-off event was a March 20 program on the economic and automotive outlook, which featured economists Paul Traub of Chrysler, Emily Kolinski Morris of Ford, and Ted Chu of General Motors.  Traub is the new president of the chapter, Morris is vice president, Kathy O’Brien is treasurer, and Katherine Nelson is secretary.

The Dallas-Fort Worth (DABE) Chapter has a full schedule this year as new board takes over, headed by Jeanette Rice, vice president, market and investment research at Verde Realty.  On April 23, the chapter will host its annual Arthur Smith Awards luncheon and this year Ken Simonson, NABE board member and chief economist of Associated General Contractors of America, will address the group on “Building a Recovery: Construction in Texas and the U.S.”

San Francisco’s newly revived chapter will host a May 7 luncheon focusing on “Credit and Capital Market Developments: Implications for Economic and Auto Industry Outlook.”  NABE President Ellen Hughes-Cromwick, chief economist at Ford Motor Company, will present the outlook at the event to be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
