Peter Orszag, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, has been chosen by senior Democrats in the Senate and House to serve as director of the Congressional Budget Office when the 110th Congress convenes in January.

Milton Friedman, recipient of NABE’s Adam Smith Award in 1989 and a NABE Fellow, died Nov. 16 in San Francisco, at age 94.  He was retired professor of economics at the University of Chicago. Friedman’s1989 Adam Smith Award Address to NABE is at http://www.nabe.com/publib/friedman_adam_smith.html.
