Call for Contributed Papers for the 2007 Annual Meeting

As a NABE member, you are encouraged to participate actively in the NABE Annual Meeting in San Francisco, California on September 9-11, 2007. How? By submitting a paper for the NABE Edmund A. Mennis Contributed Papers Award. Here are the details

E-mail a 250-word abstract (one page, double-spaced) of a proposed paper (with no author identification) and a cover sheet with contact information no later than March 23, 2007 to Susan Doolittle, NABE Executive Director at doolittle@nabe.com. Topics should reflect original, unpublished research by the author on topics or in areas that would be of practical value to NABE members in fulfilling their job responsibilities.
By April 20, a Selection Committee appointed by Robert Crow, Business Economics Editor, will review the anonymous abstracts. At up to eight abstracts will be selected. The authors will be requested to provide completed papers for review by June 22. The guidelines for preparation will be the same as those for all manuscripts submitted to Business Economics. These guidelines are printed in Business Economics, and they are also available on the NABE website (http://www.nabe.com/publib/beguide.htm) or on request from the Editor of Business Economics.
From these final papers the Committee will select two for presentation at a session of the annual meeting. Each paper will be commented on by a discussant, with time available for general audience participation.
The following awards will be made to the authors of the two selected papers:

The author of the best paper will receive the NABE Edmund A. Mennis Contributed Paper Award, a prize of $1,000, a commemorative plaque, and will pay no fee for attendance at the meeting. The paper (as modified by the author if desired) will be published in a future issue of Business Economics.
The author of the second paper also will receive a commemorative plaque, will pay no fee for attendance at the meeting, and the paper (as modified by the author if desired) will be published in a future issue of Business Economics.
The remaining papers will be reviewed for publication in Business Economics in future issues.
