Why did you change everything? Especially after I learned where everything is?
The latest remodeling was done to streamline the pages, bring the website up to standards, and give users more control over the appearance..
We haven't moved any pages. Any bookmarks that you made to pages within our site should still work. We organize the pages along functional or product lines. You can see this scheme in the buttons along the left side of the page. Now, to find information about one of the NABE® publications, for instance, you don't have to remember whether it is a member or a public file. You just need to go to the Publications page. From there you will find links to all the relevant information. Don't forget to make use of the Site Map and the Search Engine, too.
We have not used any features that are exclusive to one browser or another. However, we are now using some features, such as Cascading Style Sheets, that require a fourth generation browser, which means Mozilla Firefox 1.x, MS Internet Explorer 5 or higher, or Netscape Navigator 7 or higher. As long as you are not using a browser more than three years old, you should be OK. If you have an older browser, you should still see everything, but much of the formatting will be lost. The August 2002 Windows on the Web discusses some of the reasons to have a more modern browser.
All web user surveys indicate that the vast majority (90%)of computer users have a screen resolution of 800 by 600 or better. The new website design at nabe.com is liquid, which means that the center column will expand or contract to fill up the browser window. (The left and right columns stay fixed) The new design should still work fine with a browser window that is 600 to 700 pixels wide. If it gets narrower than that, things may start to scroll off the right side of the screen.
To adjust your resolution, see How Do I Adjust my Screen Resolution?
Is there an easy way to remember my NABE® user name and password?
Remembering the many different passwords and user names that you deal with on the Web can be difficult. In many cases, the best thing to do is let your computer do the work for you.
If you are using one of the Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers, whenever you come to a password protected site, and see the gray log-in box, check the box that says "Save this password in your password list." Then the next time you come back to this site and attempt to access a password-protected page, your user name and password will already be filled in. All you need to do is hit "Enter."
There is a similar built-in memorization function in Netscape Navigator 6 and Mozilla 1.x. They also have a Password manager dialog that gives you more control.
You still want to write down your user name and password information. If you change computers or suffer a hard drive crash, you still want some record of this information.
How do I view the Business Economics® and NABE® News articles?
Old issues of Business Economics and NABE News are compiled the articles as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. These are electronic documents that preserve the look and feel of the original printed articles, yet can be viewed and printed by Windows, Macintosh, DOS and UNIX computers. These files are available only to NABE® members.
Newer issues (post 2003) are in HTML and PDF.
The software to read these articles is available free-of-charge from Adobe. All you have to do is follow this link to Adobe's home page. Once there, click on the icon that says "Download the Acrobat Reader". Once downloaded, you will need to install the software according to their directions on your computer.
Please Note: Our HTML pages are designed for better onscreen viewing, not for printing. Page breaks and column breaks may not come at the best places. With the advent of electronic memberships, all surveys, Business Economics, and NABE® News articles will also have PDF versions created from the original print documents. These are designed for printing.
After that, you can download and save as many of the articles as you wish. You will have to run the Acrobat software and open the file just like you would a word-processing file or spreadsheet.
Most files are for NABE® members only, although a selection are available to the public. They are also copyrighted by NABE®

How can I bookmark NABE.com?
To be able to quickly move to NABE.com, you can either bookmark it (Netscape) or add it to your Favorites (MS Internet Explorer). Here's how:
Netscape Navigator 6.x: Go to the NABE® home page (or whatever other page you want to bookmark. Then on the menu click Communicator, Bookmarks, Add Bookmarks. Or else just use the shortcut key of CTRL + D.
In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x/6.x: Go to the NABE® home page (or whatever other page you want to bookmark. Then click Favorites, Add to Favorites. Or else just use the shortcut key of CTRL + D.
What browser works best with NABE.com?
We try hard to make NABE.com browser-neutral, and don't use features that will only work in Mozilla, or will only work with Internet Explorer. There are some subtle differences that sneak in, but it really shouldn't matter. (The webmaster thinks that Mozilla is the better browser, but that's a matter of taste.)
However, we are now using some features that require you to use either IE 5.x or higher, or Netscape 6.x or higher. If you are still using version 3/4 of either program, you may start to have problems on some pages, and you should consider an upgrade. The upgrades are free.
How Do I Adjust my Screen Resolution?
In Windows 95/98/NT/2000, right-click an empty portion of your desktop, then select Properties. Go to the Settings tab. In the Desktop area section, click and drag the slider button to your desired setting. Click OK, and follow the onscreen directions. If you go in the "More" direction, you will see more things on your screen; however, they will all be a little smaller.
