Headline Inflation Forecast

The Graph of the Week is the NABE Outlook Panel's forecast for headline inflation, from the November 2006 NABE Outlook. From the survey:
The NABE panel sees inflation coming down over the next year, reflecting lower energy costs and the topping-out of growth in unit labor costs. The panel reduced its anticipated profile for CPI growth in 2006, with the projected increase for this year now standing at 2.7%, compared to 3.3% in the September survey. The CPI is now forecast to increase by 2.5% next year, with the core CPI up by 2.4%.
