Capital Spending - NABE Industry Survey

The Graph of the Week comes from the January 2008 NABE Industry Survey and shows the Capital Spending Net Rising Index. From the survey:
Capital spending growth was reported to be rising at 38% of respondents’ firms, above the historical average. Respondents in all sectors raised their capital spending plans for the coming year, with all sectors showing marked improvement from the last survey. Expectations improved for computer and communications equipment outlays but decreased for structures investment.
NABE members can read the full survey here. A summary is available to the public. There are also a number of employment reports coming out this week, culminating in the BLS Employment Situation report on Friday, February 1.
