Additional Information

By choosing economics as an undergraduate major, the ever-changing economy and job market is, and will, continue to be prominent for economists. Persons with economics expertise are valued in all sectors and industries, whether public or private. Accordingly, the National Association for Business Economics performs a salary survey every two years as means for analyzing interesting trends in job characteristics and compensation. The results from the 2002 Salary Survey indicate that the median salary for a person with a Bachelors degree in Economics is $76,750. By comparing this value with past surveys, a dramatic upsloping trend can be noticed in regards to compensation. Since 2000, the median salary of a person with a Bachelors degree in Economics has increased by $9,250.
