Security Information

Please remember that the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has implemented new security procedures. The relevant portions of the new security rules are:

1. Those who come to the Fed for PCBE meetings MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE so that Pat Collins or I can provide a complete list of visitors to our protection staff. People who show up at the door without having registered in advance will normally be denied entry. (PCBE members who do not register in advance but who are known to a Philadelphia Fed employee MAY be allowed to enter the Fed if the employee will meet them at the 7th Street entrance, vouch for them, and escort them to the meeting -- but the guards may simply refuse to admit people who are not on the list.)

2. Visitors will be allowed to enter the Fed only through the 7th Street entrance. The guards at the entrance may ask to see a photo i.d., to enable them to match visitors against the list. Visitors will be required to pass through a metal detector. The guards may inspect any item carried into the building.

3. VISITORS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO PARK AT THE FED. There is a commercial parking lot across the Street from the Fed (on 7th Street between Arch and Race); there are also lots at 8th and Arch.
