China Economist/analyst
Immediate opening at leading Wall Street independent research firm (ISI Group) for top China economist in our new Los Angeles office. Office produces research on Chinese economy, markets, sectors for US/global institutional investors, anticipates doing research for clients in China in near future. Research, analyze, conceptualize, and write reports on Chinese economy, sectors, markets and global role, significance to US/global markets. Position reports to Senior Managing Director. High visibility to US investment community. Daily communication with global leadership of the firm. Some overseas travel required. Top west LA location. Great growth opportunity.
Requirements: 2+ years experience in Chinese and/or US financial markets; deep knowledge of Chinese economic/financial markets operations and data; understanding of Chinese economic policy and global role; native Mandarin speaker; excellent English (read, write, speak); strong analytical skills; presentation skills; contacts with China government officials a plus; some international travel; high energy and creativity; intellectual curiosity.

Administrative/Research Assistant
Immediate opening at leading Wall Street independent research firm for combination administrative and research assistant in our new China-focused Los Angeles office. Firm produces research on US, China and world for US/global institutional investors. Position reports to Senior Managing Director and provides administrative and research support. Heavy information and data search; preparation of tables, charts and reports, plus administrative duties (schedules, travel, etc.). Great west-LA location.
Requirements: 1+ years experience in financial markets; absolutely top Microsoft Office and computer skills; analytical/research/math mind set; possess intellectual curiosity and office organizational ability; work in collegial office. Mandarin a plus. Bloomberg a plus. Love of new technology. Great growth opportunity for person who loves China, America and financial markets.
