Welcome to the Hartford Area Business Economists
In the fall of 1965, a small group of Hartford-area business economists met to discuss interest in forming a professional organization. There was agreement that such a group was needed to provide a forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas and problems. Following several meetings, the Hartford Area Business Economists (HABE) was chartered as the sixth local chapter of the National Association of Business Economists (NABE) on September 29, 1966. HABE continues to address the need for:
- A wide exchange of experience in the application of economic theory to the opportunities and problems of business firms.
- A channel for communicating timely analysis, research findings and enlightened viewpoints on a wide range of economic topics.
- A convenient means for meeting fellow business managers, economists and others concerned with the ongoing study of economic activity.
Membership is open to economists, businesspeople whose work is dependent upon the understanding of economic conditions, and those who simply enjoy the pursuit of economic topics. Members and non-members are welcome to attend any of our monthly meetings.
