Welcome to the
Detroit Association for Business Economics

Dear DABE Members and Supporters:

On Thursday January 19 (2012!) DABE is proud to host our annual Bob Fish Memorial Automotive and Economic Outlook luncheon. The board has identified a great panel for this signature DABE event. First, George Magliano of IHS Global Insight will address the U.S. forecast for 2012 and beyond. Then we will hear from Kristin Dziczek of the CAR group, who will give us an overview of the recently concluded labor contract negotiations and what the results may mean for the auto industry in the coming years.

The meeting will begin with registration at 11:30 AM and our speakers at noon, and will take place at the Detroit branch of the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Detroit. Directions are attached. Please RSVP by January 17 to place your name on the security list for admission to the Fed facility, and bring a picture ID for entrance.

Our membership and luncheon fees remain unchanged from prior seasons. A membership for 2011-12 is $10, or just $5 for current students. Luncheon costs are $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers and $15 for student members. New for 2011-12 is a DABE Season Pass, which includes membership and a full season of luncheon events (five speakers plus our April university research session) for a cost of $100.

As always, membership fees may be paid at the first meeting attended. For your convenience, we have also added an online payment option through Paypal, for the season pass or regular lunch/membership payments. Our Paypal ID is dabe_mail@yahoo.com Contact Katherine Nelson, our DABE Treasurer, with any questions regarding these arrangements.

On behalf of the entire Board, we want to thank you for your support in the past year and we wish you and your families a very happy holday season. We look forward to seeing you on January 19.

Best regards,
Emily Kolinski Morris
DABE President 2011-12
