Travel and Tourist Information - Atlanta

Hartsfield International Airport website

City Trains
"The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) covers the metro Atlanta area (Fulton and Dekalb counties) with scheduled service to and from the airport. The MARTA entrance is located at the west entrance of the terminal complex, near other ground transportation services. MARTA trains arrive and depart from the airport every eight minutes. In 15 minutes, a passenger can travel the 10 miles to downtown Atlanta, where connections are available to other parts of the city."
A MARTA station, Arts Center (N-5), is approximately a block from the hotel.

AEC Advice

NABE's Atlanta Chapter, the Atlanta Economics Club, has provided us with these recommendations for the Midtown area:

What's the Scoop, 1402 North Highland Ave.
An ice cream shop in the nearby Virginia Highlands neighborhood -- really great ice cream in a nice atmosphere for strolling, window shopping, etc.

Cafe Intermezzo, 1845 Peachtree Road
Great for coffee and dessert.

Eats, 600 Ponce de Leon Ave.
Great cheap food.

Anthony's, 3109 Piedmont Road
404-262-7379

Authentic Southern food and charm

Agave, 242 Boulevard SE
Upscale eclectic southwestern; dynamite!

Six Feet Under, 415 Memorial Drive.
Tremendously good seafood. Casual restaurant and bar with roof-top with
view of downtown. Great jukebox, too.

Tamarind Thai Restaurant. 80 14th St.
Excellent.

Manuel's Tavern, 602 North Highland Ave.
Historic. The renowned drinking grounds for a diverse set from stage
actors to politicians to philosophers. Manuel's is near the Carter Presidential Library

Northside Tavern,1058 Howell Mill Road
Live blues 7 nights a week.

Fat Matt's Rib Shack, 1811 Piedmont Road.
Great barbecue, blues on Sunday.

Another recommendation is the South City Kitchen -- "Net net, in terms of location (between the Fed and the hotel), contacts, and experience, our vote is for South City Kitchen, which offers Southern fare but in a non heavy, non greasy version, plus other interesting dishes in a with-it atmosphere." For more information, please visit http://www.southcitykitchen.com Located at 1144 Crescent Avenue,
in Midtown Atlanta.

WiFi Hotspots:
Borders Books, 650 Ponce de Leon
Starbucks, 21 14th St.
Starbucks, 867 Peachtree St.
Starbucks, 1544 Piedmont Rd
